Hello,
A few weeks ago we got invited to join a Forum on how to lead teams into new and unreached areas. The time came last week for us to go. We were able to use our own car and got on the way on Friday, the 17th of May. We reached Arusha in the evening and joined a group of very interested learners from different countries, all with the aim to find out how the remaining task on how to get people motivated to leave home and do what Jesus requires his followers to do.
It was incredible for us to see that young and old are getting ready to do things we almost felt are impossible to do. One young family is heading out to one of the small islands off the east coast of Africa. There are no wheels on the island, only 2000 people, and no airstrip. But there are people who have never heard the gospel and therefore they qualify for messengers to go there and live out the gospel.
Others have heard about a small group in the mountains of eastern Uganda and realized that there is no gospel witness and decided that they need to go and tell them that there is a God who loves them.
But none of them will go alone, they are all getting a team of 8-12 people together and they will live in close proximity to each other and basically share live with each and other and the people around them.
We were received very warmly by the team in Arusha, even though we are from a different organisation.
All of us felt that the body of Christ is coming together and the willingness to pass on what has worked for them was a great example of the unity which we have in Christ.
We came back yesterday and were already able to share with some of our folks and will do more sharing in the next couple of weeks and see what will come out of it.
