Hi there,
Merry christmas to all of you. Communication with the english speaking world has been a bit of a challenge for us. We gonna try this new piece of media and see how good it is for us to stay in touch with you all. Since Christmastime is a bit quiet around here, especially during the election period, I had some time to play around a bit and try new things.
Talking about elections: Tommorrow Kenya is going to the polls for the presidency for this beautiful country. Two guys are in the race. Of course there are more, but the race is between the current president Kibaki and his opponent Raila Odinga from the Western part of this country. It is extremely hard to predict who is going to be in the statehouse from next year. But we are all praying for a good and peaceful outcome. Tensions are high and bloodshed has been there, but not really very bad. We hope it all stays calm.
It is a beautiful Summermorning here in Kijabe and we are all grateful for a bit of a rest until school starts next week. The kids thoroughly enjoy there Holiday, playing with friends and watch movies together. We are doing the Lord of the Rings series together and it seems each one of us is captivated by it.
We also did a few other fun things together, Benjamin learned to play Chess and we really enjoy the facilities up at RVA which is only a 5 minutes walk from our house.
We are always anxiously looking at our neighbouring country and just wonder wether there will ever be peace again or what it takes for this country to get peace.
We would love to go inside one day and take the good news to this people. For now we have to be satisfied that the Lord brings them to us which is wonderful. Our Hospital is full of people from that country to the east and the number is ever increasing. Even the little Motel we are running for the moment while the managers are out of the country, the majority of users seem to be from that nation. For us to share the love of Christ with them is a joy and also a burden because we can't stop it. Even when we are frustrated with the Reception or lack thereof, we must continue preaching the love of God.
We appreciate your prayers for us, we'll try to keep you posted, Thomas and Dorothy
